More often than not, I pick up my overtime work on Friday nights, mainly because I would be off for the following day. Since I work 1 weekend a month, that arrangement does not always work. I usually have the day off on Friday before and Monday after the weekend rotation. On that week rotation, I would pick up OT on Thursday nights and Sunday nights, respectively.
Today is chaotic. One blood analyzer broke in the middle of the shift. To call tech support is basically useless, to say the least. But, we manage. For the love of the children. For work professionalism. Seriously, my most favorite part of my job, aside from the human aspect, is troubleshooting. I love tinkering with the machines. I fix them, I do not break them. It frustrates me if I can not fix it by the end of my shift and find out later that somebody else did, and that the solution was right on my face. I should have been an engineer, to which my Tatang would say... "Ay Apo!" ( My Lord)... bless that man. He knows so many things, I consider him gifted. No joke, but my tatang can tell if the weather is gonna be bad, if the night is good for fishing, how bad the typhoon is and so much more. Oh, well. Maybe that's where I got my "tinkering" ability. Just common sense. Haahhahha.
How about you, what do you love about your job?
happy weekend peeps!
