KC’ s Dance Recital 2018

KC started dancing at the age of 4 at Gold’s Dance School in Brockton MA. A little trivia, star of Footloose Kenny Wormald is a graduate of this school. 😜

She stopped for a few years as she lost interest and I’m the type who would not force my kids to do activities they don’t like. Unless it’s academics 🤪

Here are a few pictures!

As always she had a blast. As always, I enjoy watching her and take great pride in all that she does.

That’s KC being lifted.

Looking forward to her next dance recital.

Pherry’s Sweet Gesture aka Asking Mom Opinions for Work Outfit

Belated Happy Memorial Day folks!

As many of you long time readers know, Memorial Day weekend is reserved for KC’s dance recitals and this year is not different. Saturday was rehearsals and Sunday was the performance. She performed on the two shows which means we had to be there from 1130am to 6pm.

Anyway, Sunday Pherry went to dinner with his friends and Monday he went out with them again so I gently reminded him he needs to work so needs to come home and rest. Oh yes I haven’t told you, those who follow me on instagram and Facebook know though 😘 Pherry is doing an internship with Draper Labs in Cambridge MA! How cool is that? It is a paid internship and if you ask me, pays generously.

I was surprised when he came home before 9, went straight to shower and then after a few, came and asked me my opinion as he was prepping his outfits for the office. We discussed what’s an undershirt, that he needs to wear belt at all times, then he adds—- it should match my shoes! Hahahahaha, I raised a good son. 🤣
You see it may seem so odd to many but I feel so overjoyed when my kids do this—- asking me my opinion. Pherry was so happy when I suggested we need to buy new shirts as he likes the more modern fit but at the same time, he does not oblige me. My kids are the type who are so happy when they get new stuff but I have never felt obligated—- well except for Legos and Duplos, and books. But those are the good ones you’d like to be obligated to buy as a parent. He mentions, I don’t have in between shoes Ma. I have really casual ones and The Ferragamos LOL again. So I told him we’d buy tomorrow too. We also need to buy new belt. Then he blurted, Ma, I work for Draper Labs, I think I’d be fine looking like this.

Here’s how he look with the practice outfit; you be the judge.

Oh, and here’s a picture of him when I asked him to lift his shirt so I can show the difference of having a gold buckle Dior belt, a silver buckle disintegrating TJmaxx belt, and he just laughs at me.

I can’t tell you enough I love being a mom!
Happy Tuesday everyone, drop me a message if you can! Keep smiling and the world will smile back at you!

Brothers

Pherry came home Friday for Pax East convention. We had a deal that if he finds a ride to Boston, I’ll drive him back. Well, he did a rideshare with 3 girls he did t know. From his school. Also, the 3 girls didn’t know each other too. Anything to get home I suppose.

Just warms my heart to see my boys like this:

Restaurant Reviews— Smorgasbord

It’s Easter Sunday let’s rejoice!

As you know we love eating out. We go to our tried and tested faves but we also venture out. First on the list today is Cafe Vallarta in Brockton MA. It’s is huge and has that authentic Mexican flare. The food is good, service is good but you get the same food and service at a lower price somewhere. I love the interior though.

Next is the new Korean restaurant here in Quincy. Now this space is small but I was so pleasantly surprised. It was good, service is quick and good. The food? Perfect! Price? Awesome! Not like the Korean Place in Braintree. 🤣

Pherry’s Home for Spring Break

Pherry’s home! The feeling is still the same— too excited to reunite my family.

I started driving a little after 8am. The dorms close at 10am. By 9a, he already started texting. It was very cold, when I got there, all they did was jump on the car and off we go. He was with his dorm buddy Andrew.

So literally I drove over 4 hours but it’s all worth it.

Look at that smile. Right after, we went for a haircut— just the boys and me. So very happy.

He is still the sweet boy I know but we’re noticing he is growing up to be a handsome man! We went to dinner with friends, after he went to meet his friend Stanley, he got home just in time to join us.

He will be going back soon— this Sunday so I’m really trying to get lots of time with him.

My first born is indeed growing.

March 2018

It’s March! It’s supposed to be spring-y! But there is a Northeaster hammering the East Coast.

But let’s not deal with that shall we? March is the birthday month of the two most important people in my life—- my Inang ( mother) is March 1st followed by my dearest husband on the second.

How is your March starting so far?

Restaurant Review- Boston Marriott Quincy

Here’s another review for a local restaurant.

We usually like to explore new places but we also have our favorites, regulars we keep going back and forth. We have been going to the Marriott Hotel for quick and satisfying breakfast buffet. Nothing fancy but the essential breakfast needs are there. We have not been here for extended period because they seem to be on renovations all the time.

But after feeling so bad last Saturday, Chris texted me this:

This is where the cash register is.

Bar area. Tons of TVs and lots of room to gather round.

Clean subway tiles? You got me!

The new lobby of the hotel.

Waiting area or welcome area depending on what you like. 😂

And this? This makes me want to stay and feel home. Well done Marriott!

Can we talk about this chandelier? Is it even a chandelier?

From afar, this lighting is perfection!

Is he really feeling it? I betcha he does. Too bad they stopped pool membership. We use to co e here as even if you are not hotels guests, you can pay to use the pool and exercise area so we came often in the winter time.

And these is what I had!

And more.

And more.

 Like more?

Overall it was a great experience. It is never crowded and you never feel rushed. And of course my favorite omelet station attendant, was lovely as always.
