Weekend Series

Alright, so Saturday, we stayed home mostly and just went to the bookstore later in the evening while my 2 brothers-in-law and Mr.Hubbs played card in the house.

Precious and Jem slept over and so you know what that means--- staying up late and just being goofy!

Sunday, we all had a hearty breakfast. They had eggs and bacon and I had my bursawit- dried baby belt fish from the Philippines! Woohoo!
We then went to Copley Square in Boston and had fun at the library!

I just love doing simple things with the kids. The library is beautiful and such a historical place--- and free! Did I say free?
If you're in town, be sure to drop by! Sit down by the garden and just relax or go to one of the reading rooms and soak in some knowledge. Being in Boston, you're most likely sitting beside some kid from MIT or Harvard! Ha!

Here's KC reading the new book she purchased yesterday.

Oh, my expenses these days consist of books and tickets to meet authors. I guess it's not that bad. Did you know, we are going to see The Rick Riordan! Awesome-ness!

After they got tired reading or running around, we headed off to Acorn St.--- the most photographed street in Boston. It's a true cobblestone street with gas lamps. There's not much to see, btw, it's a private street-- but if you love history, you'll love it. It's a tiny street tucked away and easy to miss. If you head out, take pictures and do not wear freaky shoes! Be respectful as it is a residential area.

Headed to the mall for late lunch and dropped off the kids. Mr. Hubbs and I then went to Rodizio for much needed solo time and good food. Unfortunately, the service is good but the food is not. This is not the first time we've come here but I keep hoping it gets better but it does not. I still love their chicken heart and the grilled pineapple. I believe it's not worth the money- that's why we only go if there is a Groupon we can use.

How about you, how is your weekend? Hope all is well with you my loves!

First Day of School 2014-2015

I know I have not updated this blog for so long! Been crazy chronicling our lives via Instagram!

If you follow me on Instagram and FB, you know that Josh got into the AP ( Advance Placement) program. That being said, I have to drive 3 Little Monkeys in 3 different schools! Wowza! Buy why dwell on the negative?

Pherry actually started later in the week because the freshmen went in first so, basically I dropped off my middle schoolers! Here are some pictures! Oh, how they've grown!

This is the last year for KC to be in middle school. So I took a photo of her at Point Webster!
Quite the opposite, this the first year of Josh in this middle school- the brand new Central Middle School. This school is huge and very updated!
Some of his old school friends also got into the program and here they are!

Chaos in opening day!

How was yours? Hopefully with this post, I get back on track!

This Weekend

I was supposed to have lunch with a few girlfriends but I totally messed up my schedule. I promised to participate in the Philippine Independence Day this Saturday.
Anyway, in all honesty, I feel that aside from the flashmob dance, the rondalla presentation and the tinikling, I find the celebration less than stellar.

Brag Day

Seems my blessings keep coming. I'd rather believe the one ip above just wants me to know he loves me and that I should trust him more.

Anyway, after KC's recital, Josh' acceptance to APC, here's another news! Christopher's ranked number 64 out of 379 sophomores in Quincy High! That means he is top 17 of his batch! His GPA is just a tad below 4.0 too! Woohoo!

Talked to him and tried to encourage him to bring up his GPA to at least 4.0, like last year.

So far, this week has been great! Looking forward to more great news soon! God is good! All the time!

Dance Recital 2014

As Memorial Day approaches, we are always busy with preps for this day. As always, my daughter is beautiful as ever! This year though, we have more kids in the family who are in the recital. KC and PreshieBoo were joined by Bella and Jem this year!
As always, we were joined by family and friends!
Even Baby E came to see Ate Precious and Kuya Jem!

It was heartwarming to have my sister around. She never misses ANY event of her APo. Even it it means driving from Montreal to Boston after a 16 hour shift! That's family!

All smiles!

Manong Boy and Manang Bella must be so proud their Apos are such beautiful kids!

With their LolaTitas!

KC was recognized by my friends at work because of social media! I am blessed to meet and know beautiful people!

Any family event is a chance to so spend family time. Isn't this photo precious?

Well, here's another lovely photo. KC and Dad!

KC and Kuya. No family picture sadly coz Josh was giddy "riding" with his cousins.
But, here we are---proud parents of such a beautiful princess!
How about you? How was your Memorial Day?

Monday Brag Day - Josh is in AP

Although you probably know it by now--- because I bragged about it on all social networks! My littlest Monkey got into the Advanced placement program! He scored 124 on the NNAT2. I am so proud! Blessings from God above and joy to our family! Thank you to all who always love and support my kids!

Throwback Thursday

Oh, I miss these days when they are so loving to each other. " want a piggy back ride Josh?" Sweet!

Valentines 2014- a very late post

Alright, I know I've been MIA and I have a lot to share but let me catch up by telling you about my Valentines. It was beautiful! All planned and prepared by the kids!

The moment I got in the house, this is what I saw!
Isn't it so sweet? I literally cried! And this?! Oh my heart melted!

The kids, especially KC planned this whole thing, so clever I really didn't know. Not a hint. Anyways, she also picked beautiful love songs and played it on her computer with the "fireplace" backdrop! How so romantic!
She told Josh to play "waiters" and set the table beautifully. Here are my amazing "waitstaff." Aren't they they the cutest?
They even used my Valentines plate! Ha!
With special food presentation of course, this is for dessert.
Can you top that? NO!
Of course they coerced Mr.Hubbs. They said the flowers they picked for me had meanings and was just not any other bouquet. Isn't it sweet and special?
Jut take a look at all the special touches they put together!
In case you missed those characters, want to guess who those lovebirds are?
How about that little detail up on the shelf? They never missed anything, these kids.
They also put these photos by the table. Those days! Major throwback for us!

And here we are! How was your V-Day?

Llaga Family Dinner

I will attemp to make a series about our silliness during dinner or when we just hang out together.

For today, while Josh is preparing fried dough ( from scratch, mind you), I asked KC to hand me garlic and onions for my Tagalog Bistek. Josh suddenly blurted out;
" Nationwide is Onion side..." you know that insurance commercial? Go ahead, sing it on your head or better yet blurt it out baby, sing!

Happy Wednesday my lovely readers! #lovelovelove and #beboldBeBeautifulisBack

History Bowl Regional Finals

Alright, it's that time of the year again and luckily Chris got into the top team of Quincy High.

They beat all the five teams in the elimination  rounds--- North Quincy B, Pioneer B and A, British School of Boston and Everett B.

Onto the quarterfinals they beat Acton-Boxborough who was actually a one-man team. For the semifinals, they faced Hingham and sadly they lost.

It was just a consolation to know that 2 of the Higham team were actually the JUNIOR VARSITY champion and runner-up respectively!

Last year they have gone to the finals against Lexington and it was a good experience for the team coz it was their first time to compete together. I think this year they are more cohesive. So even though they aren't going th the finals, they actually have more points this year.

Update: They actually were the top 3 team so that qualified them to go to WAshingtoN DC for the Nationals!

Family Jokes

Over the years I've shared to you how we always come up with jokes over dinner, homework time or even on long trips.

Here's two recently. Please credit when you share these jokes! Ha!

While dining over hotpot tonight, KC blurted this joke when the overhead radio consecutively played  I'm Sexy and I Know It and Sexy Back by LMFAO and Justin Timberlake respectively. Out of nowhere she said: oh, you can't bring sexy back without a receipt! So funny, my girl! Even Pherry liked it. Oh, yeah, I measure a joke by way of Pherry. Pherry only thinks a joke is good if it's a combo of intelligent content and smooth delivery!

Last Thursday on our way to indoor ice skating, my niece remembered an incident where she laughed at herself. Being used to e-ticket, email, evite and the like, she was reading a billboard driving to work and read e-vent! After awhile, she realized it was just a simple EVENT!

Good evening folks!

First Snowstorm 2014

Let me tell you this, I never realized how bad it was until I woke up to go to work at 6am and there was no electric power. No electric power means no heating, no hot water. I WAS NOT GOONG TO TAKE A SHOWER ON SUB ZERO TEMPERATURE. No!

Anyway, I went back to sleep and hopefully call work to check on the lab. I have such a dedicated team, 3 of the staff members volunteered to stay Thursday night just in case no one can come in on Friday morning.

I called Mr.Hubbs immediately upon waking up reporting the kids are off from school again and there is no power. He told me he can drop me off after he gets home. I look down the window and the pile up is about a foot of snow! Really pretty white fluffy snow, but how can I drive out when the roads are not plowed yet?

Stayed in bed after a confirmation that all is well in the lab. It brings me joy to see the kids in bed with me. Priceless! I went down when the power was back up to prep for breakfast. While having a Filipino breakfast I was telling the kids how we had power outage and we did not notice it. HERE IS THE REAL REASON FOR THIS POST! Josh blurted out - " oh no, we would not have rice."

See, snowstorm, power outage and all that matters is NO RICE! Oh so Filipino! This is what I usually call FIL-Am problems.

Anyway, just sharing some pictures. It's not in any way worse than last year's but  bad nonetheless.

Mr.Hubbs plows the snow after his night shift!

Pherry looks like a real Bostonian. It's not cold 'Ma!

.....and of course the kids would not miss this as opportunity to have fun in the snow!

Yesterday I brought them sledding at a nearby school. The wind is crazy but they had so much fun. What about you, what do you do with the kids on snow days? Were you affected by the storm?

Have a great weekend everyone!
